| Commanding centre back who is striving to win a regular place in Trevor Francis' starting line-up since the departure of Steve Bruce. The 21-year-old Londoner graduated through the ranks at his first club Leyton Orient and earned a move to Oxford United for £100,000 in the summer of 1996. Can also play at full-back, and with Bruce's departure is therefore set to become an important part of Birmingham’s squad plans for the foreseeable future. Gained recognition when selected for both the Nationwide League Squad that took on their Italian counterparts last season, and for the England U21 squad that took part in the Toulon tournament during the summer of 1998. Struggled to hold down a regular place in the side, depsite performing admirably when called upon by Trevor Francis. Now has David Holdsworth, as well as Michael Johnson and Darren Wassall to compete with for a place in the side. |
